We have helped many homeowners over the years get the most out of their box sash windows, and would love to hear from you about what it is you need.

Unfortunately, some tradespeople don’t look after their customers as well as we do, and this is putting some people off investing in their homes. In fact a recent survey of 2,000 homeowners found that about one third (32 per cent) of people did not want to go ahead with building works over fears about ‘dodgy’ tradespeople.

The problem is so significant that the UK economy is thought to be missing out on £10 billion of work a year, due to people avoiding spending on their homes, claimed the Federation of Master Builders.

They are calling on the Government to introduce some form of licencing scheme to minimise the impact of the issue on the economy.

FMB chief executive Brian Berry told The Telegraph: “If we were able to unlock this pent-up demand from fearful consumers, the benefit to jobs and growth would be enormous.

“We need to end the cowboy builders’ reign of terror so we can give all homeowners the confidence they need to invest their cash in building work.”

Other countries such as Australia and Canada, have licensing schemes for domestic builders, which means that individual homeowners are better protected when planning work on their homes.
