About the Box Sash Windows Co.
The improvement in the reduction of outside noise is quite dramatic when
Original Box Sash Window Co. windows and doors are installed.
Our unique combination of control strips, “SASHSEAL™” and our vibration absorbent
sealed glass units block all routes by which noise travels, making your home a quiet place.
On installation, any room becomes so much more pleasant and comfortable, improving
enormously the quality of its use.
If your windows and doors do not need replacing, you can still get the particular
benefits of SASHSEAL™ by having them fitted to your existing ones.

How do you reduce outside noise getting into my house through the windows?
By either fitting a perimeter air seal around each opening sash/leaf or changing the glazing to
“audio-barrier” glass, or a combination of both.
As a measure to reduce severe noise, secondary glazing should be considered as a
ADDITION to the above. CLICK HERE.
Is the result effective ?
Very. 95% of air passage from outside can be eliminated.
As the major transfer of noise is via air waves, this is the
FIRST measure to take. Thereafter audio-barrier glass may
be necessary, but this means changing the sash or leaf.
How much will it cost ?
It depends on many factors,
for example:
The size and type of the windows/doors that you would like to replace.
The level of service you choose.
The age of your house, and if there are obstacles to overcome by our installers, e.g. structural.
Our surveyor can provide you with a no obligation Best Advice Report and Quotation. To do that he will need
to visit the property and go through things with you. This will take an hour or two, depending on the complexity.

Does it look obtrusive ?
Perimeter air seal – cannot be seen without very close up inspection. We replicate the original beading.
Audio-barrier glass – cannot be seen.
Secondary glazing – it can be seen, but is normally
part hidden behind curtains. Ours has a frame made
of slim, white aluminium and is as unobtrusive as
possible. CLICK HERE
